Hi Friends,
If you missed my Facebook live event today then you missed me demonstrating how to make this beautiful card. I just love when you have an idea in your head and when you start to make the card it all goes out the window and you make a better version then you first thought!
This is exactly what happened on this card. I made my first change when I accidentally cut the cardstock the wrong size and didn’t realize it, and then scored it. I loved the look and new I was now headed in a new direction! I made sure the card would still stand and be able to be displayed. After that, it was full steam ahead. The base ended up being 7 1/2 X 5 1/2.
I then grabbed one of my favorite stamps sets, PostScript. I stamped the image using Soft Suede ink on a large scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. I used a stamping sponge and sponged Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive ink all over the piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then cut a piece of Very Vanilla for the inside panel. This piece I cut at 1 1/4 x 5 1/2. I then used Soft Sued ink to stamp the PostScript image on the panel.
I then used the Vintage Leaves framelits to cut out the leaf images. I used the Woodlands to emboss the Old Olive layer. This layer is 3 1/2 x 5 1/4. I cut a piece of Very Vanilla at 1/2″ by 3 1/4 to stamp the sentiment on.
I adhered the Old Olive piece to the Cajun Craze base. I then arranged the leaf images, I added dimensionals to the back of the leafs to adhere them to the Old Olive layer. This helped to hold them together and place them on the card front. Before I placed them on the card front, I placed the Gold Metallic Thread on the back of the leaves, making sure it was arranged just right. I then used the linen thread to make a cute bow and added one of the gems in the center.
This card is one of my favorite cards I have made to date. I have to be honest and tell you that most of my favorite cards I’ve made have started out just like this one, a mistake I turned into one of my favorite cards! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Make sure you check out my Facebook Live event if you want to see the demonstration I did.
Thanks for stopping by today and God bless!
