Today I will show you how to create a Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies Card. I am using a water color background to create flowers using using the Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies bundle. I created a water color background for the flowers using Coastal Cabana & Purple Posy Re-inkers. Our Purple Posy ink pad and Re-inker is no longer available. You can use another shade of purple. I used Soft Sea Foam and Coastal Cabana for the leaves.
After I created the background for the flowers and leaves I used Versamark Ink and White Embossing Powder. I used Water Color Paper to stamp the images. Have you tried our new and improved Water Painters? They are great!! The tube is longer so it holds more water.
This is an easy way to create the color for the flowers. You can easily stamp them and then color them but I think a water color wash gives such dimension and adds such interest to your cards.
Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies bundle was so popular last year when it was released it carried over to this years annual catalog.
Stampin’ Up! makes creating such great projects so easy with all their coordinating products. I created a card last week using heat embossing and water coloring. You can check it out HERE. I used the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle for that card.
I love heat embossing and I’m trying to improve my water coloring skills. Like anything in life the more you do it and practice the better you will get and improve your skill.
If you want to watch the video to see how I created the water color background for the flowers you can watch it on my YouTube channel. I upload videos every Monday & Thursday. I also do a Facebook live every Wednesday at 1:00 pm EST.
